	MasterBuilt 23102009 Butterball 12-Inch Stainless Steel Deep Fry Thermometer (Lawn & Patio) I bought this to go with a turkey fryer because I figured I’d need the extra reach, and it works great for that. It gives quick, accurate (as far as I can tell) readings and keeps my hands safely away from the hot oil. What I hadn’t planned for was how useful this was for checking the temperature of items roasing in the oven as well. Open the door, reach in and not only can I more easily and safely inset the probe end into a roast or bird, but I can also read it a lot easier. In my opinion, the convenience is well worth what I paid for it.

	Butterball Turkey Seasoning Kit and Gloves Combo (Lawn & Patio) This is a neat little kit that includes an injector, marinade, rub and gloves. The marinade and rub added a nice touch of heat with out being overly spicy. I personally like food with alot of heat but my guests at holiday time prefer it tame. So this provided the happy medium. The gloves made carving a snap. Necessary no, but fun. Don’t feel limited to turkey. I’ve used this marinade on both duck and chicken with good results. The remaining marinade should be refrigerated.This is a nice adjunct to the Butterball Turkey Fry er.

	Char-Broil 10101480/08101480 The Big Easy Oil-Less Infrared Turkey Fry er (Lawn & Patio) I did not want to have to deal with the problem of oil disposal and did not want the high cholesterol that goes with the regular fried turkeys either. So I read the reviews on this one and decided to go for it. It’s easy to use, cooks fast. Since this was the first time I was cooking a turkey in it and we had people coming over for Thanksgiving my wife talked me into not marinating the turkey with an injectable marinade. She just used the regular spices she normally does and I cooked it in the fryer. The turkey came out very moist and flavorful. Everyone liked it, but it is definitely a different flavor than turkey fried in oil. Next time I will inject the turkey with a marinade and I think it will come out great, but somehow I don’t think it will be the same as a regular fried turkey because later on I cooked a chicken one with marinade and once without and although the flavors were different, they were NOT that much different. I’m still happy with it though.
